Snow More Likely in Southside and New River Valley Friday

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Friday will have a rain and snow mix in the forecast.

Many locations including Southside and the New River Valley will likely see the highest accumulation totals.

One of the main limiting factors will be the lack of cold air. Temperatures will be borderline freezing which will cause heavy wet snowflakes.

Where snow does accumulate, the main impacts will include slick travel conditions leading to traffic accidents. For those in the higher elevations, heavier snowfall could cause isolated power outages from heavy tree limbs.
