Shay Mooney Pulled Off Sweet Gift For Sister After Her 'Major Health Scare'

Shay Mooney and his family planned the ultimate gift for his sister, Gabrielle Stone (also known as Gabrielle Mooney), following a “major health scare” and emergency brain surgery. The Dan + Shay star said it was a “miracle” that his sister mad a full recovery, and he teamed up with HGTV’s Dave Marrs and Jenny Marrs to renovate his great grandmother’s old property for Gabby’s wedding day.

Mooney posted a teaser for the Fixer To Fabulous episode on Tuesday afternoon (February 6), hours before the first of a two-part episode aired on HGTV. The show, featuring co-hosts and husband-and-wife duo Dave and Jenny, takes viewers through “small-town America by renovating classic homes in and around their hometown of Bentonville, Arkansas. This resourceful and creative couple transforms historic houses in desperate need of an update and turn them into charming forever homes,” reads the show’s description on HGTV.

“We have never, ever had a wedding as our deadline,” Jenny said in the clip Shay posted on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon.

Shay said as he shared the video that he’s “so proud” of his sister, and loves her and her now-husband, Graylan Stone, so much. Shay reflected on “what a journey we’ve had. This was so special,” as he thanked Dave and Jenny for their help. “My amazing family all played a massive part in pulling this off.”

Gabby, who wrote a song for her husband, shared stunning photos by photogrpaher Kristi Boatright from her wedding day in mid-November. Shay said it was “an absolutely perfect day ❤️”

"Spending the day with family and friends celebrating the life Graylan and I are starting was incredible," Gabby said of her wedding day in an interview with PEOPLE, published on November 14. "I couldn't imagine a more perfect day! I can't believe I'm Mrs. Stone now. I couldn't be happier to be his wife, and I can't wait to write a million more songs about him."
