More and more Americans think the social media giant is an actual news outlet. A Pew Research Center survey released yesterday suggests as many as 10% of people questioned think Facebook produces the news stories it carries.
Facebook doesn't produce any of the stories its one-point-eight billion users can see on the site. But it's high on the list of companies people named when Pew asked them to recall the source of a news story. The Pew study says 14% of people surveyed named CNN, 12% named Fox News, and 10% named Facebook. That's higher than the "New York Times," "Washington Post," CBS, MSNBC, and ESPN.
