If you saw two nuns walk into a bank, you'd probably assume they were making a deposit into their Christmas club accounts. But if you were at one bank in Pennsylvania, you'd have been very, very wrong.
Swahilys Pedraza-Rodriguez of New Haven, Connecticut and Melissa Aquino Arias of Passaic, New Jersey were arrested this week following a string of bank robberies in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Their usual M.O. was to wear a traditional Muslim hajib to conceal their faces. But when they attempted to knock over a Citizens Bank in Tannersville, Pennsylvania in August, they wore full nuns' robes and habits. An alarm sounded before they could get any cash, and they fled.
The two women were caught after a robbery in Teaneck, New Jersey on Sunday. They're both charged with bank robbery. (NJ.com)
