National Dog Day: A good day to adopt a dog.

And here’s a great reason …A new study found that dog owners have healthier hearts and are at less risk of cardiovascular disease. (Mayo Clinic)

And because it’s National Dog Day ...According to a new study, Las Vegas is the most dog-friendly city in the country. To determine which cities were most dog-friendly, the study looked at a number of factors including median home value, number of dog parks and number of dog-friendly restaurants and amount of rain per year.

Here are the Top 10:

1. Las Vegas
2. Tucson
3. San Francisco
4. Albuquerque
5. Denver
6. San Diego
7. Chicago
8. New York
9. Austin
10. Tampa

But we happen to think the Roanoke/Lynchburg area is number one. :)
