WEIRD NEWS: Too Hot to Handle
A Florida woman charged with disorderly intoxication claims she was really arrested simply for being too hot.
42-year-old Melody Carr was wearing a bikini and hanging out at a hotel pool when the manager, who suspected that she wasn't a guest, asked for her room number. Carr was unable to provide one and got angry and stormed off. The manager called police to report a trespasser and when they arrived, they found her walking with a brown dog outside another nearby hotel.
Police say Carr became verbally aggressive and insisted that the hotel manager called police on her because she was “jealous that her body looked good." Officers told her she had to move her car out of the hotel's parking lot or she would be charged with trespassing and the car would be towed. She moved it to a gas station and asked the attendant if she could leave her car there. When she was told no, she got back into her car and started yelling, which is when the officer noticed her breath smelled like alcohol. She admitted to having a drink at 9 a.m. and was promptly taken into custody and charged with disorderly intoxication. (WKMG-TV)
