Dumpling Dummies

Dumpling Dummies

Burglars who hit a popular Manhattan Chinese restaurant in search of some dough are still on the run -- after attempting to cook up some tasty dumplings, then fleeing with some pre-made items after making a huge mess.

Two highly intoxicated women broke into Xi'An [pr: Shawn] Famous Foods early Sunday morning after an electronic lock unlocked during a power failure. Security footage shows them trying to cook up some of the eatery's popular dumplings, a plan that went south when they forgot to heat the cooking water. They left a mess in the cooking area, then grabbed a large bag of prepared food and hit the street -- leaving the fridge wide open.

Owner Jason Wang went to YouTube to say he wouldn't press charges if the women came forward and paid for the food that had spoiled in the open refrigerator. He said “While we can respect that one has cravings for our food late at night, it is still trespassing, and it’s really not OK for you to feel so entitled to be able to waltz into a commercial kitchen. "It's not legal, it’s not safe for our guests or even yourselves." (Eater)
