Big Tip Gets Waitress Fired
An Arkansas waitress received a $4400 tip and was fired after her manager tried to make her split it with other staffers.
Ryan Brandt and another server worked a party of more than 40 at Oven and Tap in Bentonville, and each diner chipped in $100 in tip money, thinking it would go to both servers. But the restaurant’s manager instructed Brandt to pool the tip with her co-workers who didn’t serve the large party, which Brandt says had never happened before.
Grant Wise was one of the diners, and he demanded the restaurant return the tip money after hearing what happened, and then gave $2200 directly to Brandt. She was fired the next day, with the restaurant claiming it had nothing to do with her wanting to keep the tip. More hereL: (NY Post)
