Victoria’s Secret Debuts Most Diverse Model Lineup With New Collection

Victoria’s Secret has been working to change their image over the last few years. The lingerie giant has ditched their signature “angels” models, expanded their size range and is rethinking how they market to women. Last year, VS added new ambassadors, including U.S. soccer player Megan Rapinoe and Priyanka Chopra Jonas and now they’re launching a new line with their most diverse lineup of models yet.

Their new Love Cloud collection focuses on comfort by using “cloud-like” padding and ultra soft fabrics. But it’s the models they’re using in the ads that are getting all the attention.

  • The campaign features inspiring women of all different shapes, sizes and backgrounds.
  • Alongside familiar faces, like models Hailey Bieber and Shalom Harlow, VS is showing its inclusive side with accessories designer Sylvia Buckler holding her pregnant belly and Celilo Miles, a Nez Perce Tribe-Wildland firefighter.
  • “I feel grateful to be a part of this,” Miles says. “It speaks to my life and the trials that I’ve gone through trying to break into this industry. It was refreshing to know that I don’t have to change who I am to make it in this world.”
  • The ads also include Valentine Sampaio, who became the first transgender model to be featured in the “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit issue.

Victoria’s Secret head creative director Raúl Martinez calls the Love Cloud collection “a major moment in the brand’s evolution.” He explains, “From the cast of incredible women that bring the collection to life, to the incredible inclusive spirit on set, this campaign is an important part of the new Victoria’s Secret standard we are creating.”
