Not What Iguanted

Not What Iguanted

Police in Port Chester, New York are asking anyone who may be expecting a delivery of live reptiles in the mail to contact them, because it was sent to the wrong house.

This is exactly why you shouldn't just open any package that shows up at your house unless you're expecting something. A homeowner received a box and assumed it was meant for them, so they opened it up and was shocked to find live lizards and iguanas inside. Only then did they discover that it was delivered to the wrong address. Police were called in to help and they wrangled up all of the reptiles and took them back to the station where they are being held until either an animal sanctuary or the intended recipient comes to pick them up.

Scott's Thoughts:

  • Is that even legal?
  • Do you always make sure the package is for you before you open it?
  • What do you do if you open a package that was sent to you by mistake? Do you reseal it and hand it back to the delivery person, or deliver it to correct address yourself?
  • It would seem to me that it would be required to say something about live animals being in the box or something. Holes for air?
