Authorities Warn About Hallucinogenic Baby Spinach

Australian health authorities are warning people to not go looking for toxic baby spinach. A recall has been issued for the product after 164 people reported hallucinations after eating the spinach, with at least 42 seeking medical attention.

The reported symptoms include delirium, dilated pupils, rapid heartbeat, blurred vision, dry mouth, and hallucinations. Investigators are looking into the case, but experts say the spinach most likely became contaminated by a weed like nightshade, jimson weed, or mandrake root.
