Troopers in Nebraska were led on a high-speed chase topping speeds of 100 mph and were shocked by who was behind the wheel.
Troopers spotted an SUV traveling only 35 mph on the interstate and attempted a traffic stop. But the driver quickly took off and led them on a dangerous pursuit which lasted nearly 20 minutes. After spike strips were deployed and a trooper performed a tactical maneuver, the vehicle finally came to a stop. Officers were then stunned to see that the driver was a 13-year-old girl and she had an 11-year-old boy in the passenger seat. But this was more than just a naughty teen on a joyride. Troopers also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The kids were detained and placed in protective custody. Police have not said whether any charges will be filed against them. Scott's Thoughts:
- These kids are very lucky troopers were able to stop them. They could have been killed.
- So many questions. How did they get the keys? Where did they get the weed? Where'd she learn to drive like that? How are her parents not in jail?
- The parents may have some explaining to do. They should be required to take parenting classes. AT LEAST.
