A San Diego man was arrested after he stole a car, parked it in front of the police station, and then fell asleep in the driver's seat.
Cops with the San Diego Traffic Division noticed a car parked in a handicapped spot and saw a man sleeping behind the wheel. A check of the license plate showed that the car had been reported stolen. Officer woke the man up and asked why he was parked there. He told them he was tired and wanted to nap, and figured a police station would be a safe place to do that. A search of the vehicle turned up drugs and a pipe inside. He was immediately placed under arrest. (KGTV-TV)
Scott's Thoughts:
- Well, if you're concerned about taking a nap in a safe area, you probably can't do better than a police station.
- His not-so-smart decision was quickly explained by the discovery of drugs in the vehicle.
- Apparently, car theft is exhausting.
