Garth Brooks wants to bring back his rock alter-ego, Chris Gaines.
Garth said during a Q-and-A at a Billboard Live event that there are five Chris Gaines albums yet to be created. ”I don’t know if it's because I'm 61, but now everything takes three hours more than it took time to do before. The Gaines project was a lot of time put in, because it's not natural, right? You're acting on a record. But I want to do it."
Garth's 1999 album Garth Brooks… In the Life of Chris Gaines was to serve as a soundtrack to the movie The Lamb, in which Garth was going to play a troubled rock star, but the film never materialized. (Taste of Country)
Scott's Thoughtss:
- We love you Garth, but do you really think this is a good idea?
- Instead of reprising the Chris Gaines persona, wouldn't it be better if he put out music of "Garth Brooks?"
- The Chris Gaines thing wasn't well-received the first time around.
- All that said, what will Chris Gaines look like 25 years later? I am curious. But not enough to buy music.
