If you've ever had a kidney stone, you know how uncomfortable and painful it is, especially when passing it. This story is going to make you cringe.
A man in Sri Lanka developed a kidney stone that he was never going to pass through his urine because it was enormous -- more than five inches long and weighing nearly two pounds. Doctors needed to operate on him to remove the giant stone from his urinary tract, and then notified the Guinness Book of World Records. The grapefruit-sized mass was confirmed to be the largest kidney stone ever recorded. The patient is said to be recovering well and is in good condition.
