An influencer is living her worst nightmare after vitamin injections have left her with a flesh-eating disease. Beatriz Amma, 26, says three years ago she received dozens of vitamins B1 and C shots mixed with “fast dissolving” deoxycholic acid that was injected in her arms, back, and stomach. However, welts started popping up all over her body, which docs confirmed was Mycobacterium abscessus - a bacterial infection that causes festering and painful skin lesions.
How did this plot of a zombie movie happen? Experts believe it was the result of the acid being injected improperly. Amma says the illness left her “rotting in bed,” adding, "I couldn’t even put clothes on." The former model has now undergone several surgeries to remove infected tissue and has to be hooked up to IV antibiotics six hours a day.
