A wannabe swashbuckling pirate was arrested last week in Alabama and won't be sharing a jail cell with his trusty sidekick.
Police responded to a call about a man pounding on the front door of a home with his pickup truck parked nearby. The homeowners said they asked the man to leave but he refused. When officers arrived, they found 38-year-old Timothy Brandon Bowers sitting in his truck with a blank stare and a parrot on his shoulder. Cops noticed several weapons in the truck and asked Bowers to get out. When he refused and became combative, cops deployed a taser and placed him under arrest.
Bowers insisted there was nothing wrong with him and said he was simply high on mushrooms. The parrot was unharmed and taken away by an animal control officer. Bowers was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer, and trespassing. (WTVT-TV)
