Buddy-moons … Forget traditional honeymoons, lots of newlyweds are choosing buddy-moons instead. Basically, instead of a romantic getaway for two, couples are choosing to vacation and celebrate with their friends. According to a survey by wedding planning site Hitched, 20% of engaged couples would consider a buddy-moon. As Hitched editor Zoe Burke said, “Let’s face it, you have the rest of your life to be just the two of you, so why not max out the rare time where you have all your loved ones around you?”
The #buddymoon hashtag has nearly 500,000 views on TikTok, with buddy-mooners showing off their lavish vacations. “Honeymoon is out,” one TikToker captioned their ski trip to the French Alps. “Buddymoon is in.”
