A Pro Tip: Don’t Experiment With Explosives In Your Garage

When’s the last time you heard a story about someone “experimenting with explosives” that ended well? This won’t be one of those times. In Leighton, Pennsylvania, 58-year-old Steve Sensinger was found dead after reports of a “possible explosion” in his garage. Investigators believe he was “experimenting with explosives” and that experimentation led to the fateful “accidental blast.” A neighbor says Sensinger was a “nice guy,” but “I guess that last one just got the best of him.”

Speaking of explosions...

Children In Washington, DC Daycare Evacuated Moments Before Building Explosion: Authorities say one person was injured when a building exploded in Anacostia on January 18th. Investigators say a vehicle crashed into a gas meter in the 12-hundred block of Marion Barry Avenue, causing a leak that led to an evacuation of nearby buildings. A convenience store exploded just before 10 a.m. and the blast damaged two other buildings. A second explosion led to the collapse of the building, and one person was injured by flying debris. A daycare located on the second floor of the second building damaged had 16 children in it at the time. Firefighters realized the gas couldn’t be shut off and quickly evacuated the kids. The explosion happened shortly afterwards. Power and gas to more than a dozen buildings nearby was cut off temporarily.
