TikTok Trend Results In Warning Against Eating “Fried Toothpicks” (idiots)

Just because you see it on TikTok doesn’t mean you should do it. The Food Ministry of South Korea is urging citizens of the dangers that can come with eating “fried toothpicks.” The “toothpicks” in question are made from either sweet potatoes or corn starch and resemble “jade-colored curly fries” when deep fried. The food ministry says the “safety as a food has not been verified.” Though viewed as “environmentally friendly” as toothpicks, they also are made with an ingredient called “sorbitol,” which can cause “vomiting, diarrhea, and inflammation if overconsumed.”
