Pro Tip: Don’t Prank 911…Especially If You’re A Cop

In Chesterfield County, South Carolina, a trio of deputies have been jailed after being accused of using the Sheriff’s emergency system for pranks. First Sgt. Justin Reichard, Deputy Darien Roseau, and Deputy Killian Loflin were all found to have allegedly been involved in using the phone system to prank other officers after an investigation. Reportedly, there were “five hoaxes” that were “telephoned to local convenience stores or the respective municipal law enforcement agency…and notified the recipient of the location of a ‘dead body’ within the municipalities.” These wacky pranks, in turn, utilized emergency services, personnel, and equipment that might’ve been needed for other…you know…real emergencies. In charging documents, these three men are now also referred to as “former deputies.” On a side note, it’s genuinely bad when the words “prank” and “dead body” go together in the same thought.
