A recent survey has found that four in ten American adults still sleep with a stuffed animal, andâŚin some casesâŚthat stuffed toy is the same one they cuddled with as a child. Market research now shows the âkidultâ market, which is defined as âanyone over 12,â has grown into a $9 billion business catering to adults who want to âbuy plushies for themselves.â One brand, Squishmallows, says young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 account for 65% of their sales.
