A Florida man was arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm, but he made it perfectly clear that he'll be gosh-darned if he'd commit the unspeakable crime of letting a beer get warm.
Police responded to a report of shots fired at a home near Daytona Beach. As officers arrived at the home they could hear shots fired. A neighbor told police the man next door had threatened to shot him. Moments later another shot was fired and officers searched the property for the gunman, who was later identified as Brett McPeek. The man walked out of the house and cops ordered him to put his hands up.
McPeek was holding a beer in his hand and told officers he was going to crack it open. Cops asked if he had a gun on him, to which he replied no, but said there were firearms inside the house. He then very casually said, "This beer is cold sir, and I want to drink it… I just want to drink this beer. Is that cool?" Cops placed him under arrest without incident and charged him with aggravated assault with a weapon. It's unclear whether they allowed him to sip the cold beer. (WTVT-TV)
