The next time your toddler screams in the middle of night and claims there's a monster in their room, maybe you shouldn't automatically dismiss it as a figment of their imagination.
Ashley Massis Class and her husband did everything they could to assure their young daughter there were no monsters in her room. They searched under her bed and in her closet and showed her there were no monsters. They should have looked behind the walls because, as they would later find out, there were 50,000 honeybees living in an enormous hive with honey dripping all over the place.
Their first clue was the presence of a few bees in the house which prompted them to call an exterminator, who believed they came into the house through a small hole. But the problem persisted and more bees were found, so they called in a beekeeper who suggested removing part of the wall in their daughter's bedroom and that's where they were shocked to find a huge hive and thousands of bees flying out of the wall. It took the beekeeper days to remove all of the bees and a 100-pound chunk of a honeycomb. Ashley says there is a lot more work to be done in the house which could take months, and is estimated to cost about $20,000, but at least the home is bee, and monster, free. (People)
