Flying can be a nightmare experience, but some airlines definitely do a better job of taking care of their travelers than others and a new report highlights those getting it right. Skytrax’s World Airline Awards 2024 have just come out, revealing the best airlines overall.
- The prestigious awards - which are known as the Oscars of commercial aviation - are based on surveys of over 21-million customers from 100 countries and cover around 350 airlines.
- Skytrax says this year’s votes were the closest since the awards started in 1999, and even required a recount.
- Qatar Airways has been named the World’s Best Airline, for the eighth time in the 25-year history of the awards.
- The Middle Eastern carrier narrowly beat out last year’s winner, Singapore Airlines, which is second this year.
- There are no U.S. airlines in the top 20, but Delta Air Lines is 21st, and also wins for Best Airline in North America and Best Airline Staff Service for North America.
- Singapore Airlines wins for World’s Best Cabin Staff, while AirAsia is the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline and Cathay Pacific is the World’s Cleanest Airline.
