Your ability to check out on vacation may depend on how much money you make. A survey found that the more money you make, the harder it is to detach from work – especially if you’re on vacation.
While on vacation, 83% of workers who make between $160,000 and $180,000 stepped away from the fun more than once to receive a phone call or take care of an email. That number jumped to 92% for those making $180,000 to $200,000.
On the other hand, 61% of people earning under $25,000 say they never deal with work phone calls or emails on vacation.
According to the survey, 61% of workers are afraid to disconnect while on vacation because they don't want to get behind – and also because they think it looks bad.
