An elementary school student in Roanoke has finally been reunited with her lost lunchbox... after more than 40 years.
A plumber working at Fairview Elementary School in Roanoke found an old metal lunchbox featuring Heathcliff, the old orange cartoon cat. He opened it up and found a thermos inside that still smelled like hot chocolate along with a drawing and a name tag with the student's name: Tracy Drain.
The school posted a photo of the lunchbox on the district's Facebook page and it was eventually seen by Tracy Drain, who lost the lunchbox when she was in 4th grade in 1982. She said, "I think it's amazing. If I would've been the person that found it, I would've put it on eBay, and it's finders keepers, losers weepers. But it's very interesting to be able to see it. As far as remembering it, I do not, but it has my mom's handwriting, which I'll treasure right here." (WDJB-TV)
