A California driver is in jail and his passenger is in a zoo, after one of the most bizarre traffic stops ever.
A California Highway Patrolman stopped a speeding Rolls Royce Ghost and arrested the driver, 27-year-old Ali Mused Adel Mohamed, for DUI. But that's just the start of it. A further search of the vehicle also turned up cannabis that was prepared for sale and a baby spider monkey wearing a pink onesie.
Authorities estimate the monkey to be around one month old and is believed to have been kept as an illegal pet. Mohamed was taken to jail and the monkey was turned over to Madera County’s Animal Services where it was temporarily cared for before being sent to the Oakland Zoo where it will receive further care. That's Bananas
A South African security firm dispatched its officers to a home in response to a panic alarm, only to run into some monkey business.
The firm said it received multiple panic alarm signals at the home on the day after Christmas and assumed someone was in distress. But when they arrived at the scene, everything was calm and the owner explained that a monkey had gotten into his home and stole a remote control device that contains a panic button. The monkey fled the scene with the device and continued to trigger the panic alarm until he was out of range.
The monkey is still on the loose, presumably with his new toy, and police are not pursuing him.
