With Super Bowl LIX (59) coming up this Sunday, plenty of people are focused on football, but another storyline is stealing some attention from the game. As you might have guessed, it’s the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce romance, and new research reveals how fans really feel about the pop star’s presence and the couple’s future.
According to a new survey of 1,000 football fans who plan to watch the Super Bowl, 17% think Travis will pop the question after the game. Another 24.1% believe he’ll only propose then if the Chiefs win. But betting platforms aren’t as optimistic, with FanDuel offering odds at 11.76% that the football star will ask Taylor to marry him on the field after the Super Bowl.
The survey also reveals:
- Nearly a quarter of those polled (24.7%) say Swift’s involvement in the Super Bowl makes them less interested in watching it.
- But about the same number (24.6%) are more excited because of her.
- When it comes to watching the big game, 43% plan to watch at home with family, while 15.6% will watch alone.
- Younger Americans are more likely to host or attend a Super Bowl party, including 47.2% of Gen Z respondents who are, compared to only 17.5% of baby boomers.
- Pizza (29.7%) and wings (28.5%) still dominate when it comes to Super Bowl snacks, and beer is the beverage of choice (35.1%).
- While the game is the main attraction for 58.1% of viewers, 21.9% are more excited about the Super Bowl commercials and another 20% are watching just for the halftime show.
- Almost half (47.2%) of respondents say they’re excited to see Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance, with fans really hoping to hear “Not Like Us” (23.3%), “All the Stars” (10.1%) and “HUMBLE.” (10%).
