Work less, play more and make more?

Work less, play more ... Bill Gates predicts that in the next 10 years, we’ll be working just two to three days a week. Why? Because AI will be doing most jobs. “If you zoom out, the purpose of life is not just to do jobs,” Gates says. More leisure time sounds great. The question is … how will we make money to enjoy all that leisure time if AI is doing all the work?

Speaking of work …

More money, less problems ... for employers. Imagine a world where bosses pay their employees as much as possible. According to psychologist and author Adam Grant, this isn't just a fantasy – it's a smart business strategy!

Grant believes that paying employees really well can actually benefit employers. Why? Because higher salaries lead to happier, more loyal workers who stick around longer, reducing turnover costs and boosting productivity.

And he definitely has a point. According to Gallup, replacing an employee can cost a company up to two times what that worker made. And when employees are paid well, they call in sick less, are more productive, and are ultimately more profitable.

"Giving people a raise, and in particular, paying them well – some would even say paying them extremely generously – is an investment in motivation and retention," Grant said. "When organizations pay on the top end of the market range, they end up with unusual loyalty, because people know that they can't easily replicate the salary that they're getting elsewhere.”
