On July 8th, 1st Edition Collectibles was the victim of a smash-and-grab heist that saw several valuable Pokémon cards stolen by someone the store’s owners say clearly knew what they were looking for. Richard Jovahn Nunes was taken into custody this week and was charged with six counts of receiving stolen property over $1,200. Detectives were able to track down Nunes after they received a tip concerning “an attempted sale of a Pokémon Base Set Unlimited Green Wings Booster Box,” which had a value of $30K…and was one of the items reported stolen from the shop. Later in the day, there was another tip concerning the sale of “additional cards” allegedly by the same suspect.
