Just when we thought AI was only here to steal jobs and do students’ homework, it might actually be helping kids stay safer online. YouTube’s getting smarter about spotting teen users with their new AI-powered age-detection tool that goes beyond just checking birthdays. Instead, it analyzes viewing habits, video categories, and account history to figure out who's likely under 18. If their account is flagged, the user will see fewer personalized ads and won't be able to binge on repetitive or age-restricted content. And if the bot gets it wrong, they can just upload their ID to prove their age, so no biggie, right?
