The famed red brick “Home Alone” house in Winnetka, Illinois, is getting a glow-up to bring it back to its ‘90s film look, just in time for peak holiday nostalgia. The spacious Colonial underwent a full modern interior renovation and was sold earlier this year looking pristine. Now it’s going under construction again, but this time to roll back the decor to its film-accurate former glory. The timing is perfect, since the previous owner just released a memoir about what it was really like living there with his family while the movie was being filmed. Turns out, defending your house from the Wet Bandits makes for great real estate history.
