Report: Risks Of AI In Schools Outweigh Benefits
An international study looking into the use of artificial intelligence in K-12 schools throughout 50 countries has found that the risks exceed the benefits. In the end, the study found that “using AI in education can undermine children’s foundational development.” The study also showed that damage that’s already been done by AI is “daunting,” but it’s also “fixable.” On the plus side, AI has been shown to help kids learn to read and write and could make the job of teachers a little easier. The downsides, however, are negative effects on the social and cognitive development of a child.
