There are some things people shouldn’t have to be reminded of. Using a blow torch to thaw out a frozen home gas line is one of those things. Three people and a dog needed to find new housing after making this crucial mistake. In Indianapolis, authorities say an unidentified 49-year-old man “inadvertently set a home ablaze” after unsuccessfully trying the blowtorch/gas line thawing trick in the home’s crawl space. Reportedly, the man was aware of the dangers, but decided it was okay…because of his experience as a plumber.

Surgeons in Argentina apparently got the wrong orders for a procedure. Jorge Baseto thought he was going under the knife for gallbladder surgery, but later learned that he’d been treated to a complimentary vasectomy instead. The original surgery was postponed a day due to “circumstances out of (Beseto’s) control.” That “small detail” ended up causing confusion that made its way to the surgical orders, and now it’s a “malpractice scandal that’s engulfed the whole country.” Fortunately, Baseto was able to get the correct surgery, while doctors pointed fingers as to who was to blame for the error.
