Mr. Retirement … After nearly 70 years of cleaning up messes, Mr. Clean is "hanging up his whites." The iconic bald mascot is taking some well-earned time off. The brand announced in a press conference on Thursday, "After a career with zero stains on the record, he's ready for new adventures. But don't worry, his products will continue to be available to support all your cleaning needs." Mr. Clean — whose real first name is Veritably -- has been a household staple since 1958, complete with his famous jingle and spotless reputation. The brand says the retirement is tied to a bigger reveal coming March 4th and reassures everyone that the products themselves aren’t going anywhere. Packaging and the Mr. Clean name will stay exactly the same.
