Dan + Shay put their own spin on a viral holiday trend.
Dan Smyers and his wife, Abby Smyers, attempted the viral wrapping paper photoshoot with their dogs. TikTok users have been taping up holiday-themed wrapping paper in a doorway and cutting or tearing a hole in the center for their dog’s face to go through. Dog owners catch their pup’s attention with treats, and snap adorable photos of their dog’s face surrounded by festive wrapping paper.
Abby shared a few snapshots of her dogs on her Instagram story on Thursday evening (December 19), but it was her husband’s duo partner, Shay Mooney, who stole the show.
Dan + Shay shared a video on the duo’s social media pages, set to “Officially Christmas,” the title track of the duo’s massive double Christmas album that arrived this year. the video opens with Dan prepping the wrapping paper in the doorway with his dogs nearby, but when viewers see a face pop out of the wrapping paper, it’s Mooney. Abby said “Shay did way better than the dogs.”
“Tried to get photos of my dogs and got my dawg instead 🐶,” Dan commented on Instagram. Dan + Shay captioned: “Turned out so cute! 📸” Watch it here:
